Soda Feldspar (Raw Materials) - Vessel & Glaze

Soda Feldspar is a group of minerals containing sodium, aluminum, and silica, primarily used in the ceramics and glass industries. Known for its role as a flux, soda feldspar helps lower the melting temperature of ceramic materials, making it easier to work with during the firing process. It typically occurs in white or light-colored crystalline forms and is mined from various natural deposits around the world.

Soda feldspar, in pottery, is a vital ingredient used as a flux in both clay bodies and glazes. Its primary role is to lower the melting temperature of silica during the firing process, making it easier for potters to achieve vitrification and produce stronger, more durable ceramic pieces. In glazes, soda feldspar helps create smooth, glossy finishes by promoting the flow and fusion of materials. It also contributes to the development of vibrant colors and enhances the overall texture of the glaze. Due to its effectiveness in reducing firing temperatures and improving the aesthetic and structural qualities of pottery, soda feldspar is a key component in ceramics production.

Appearance:
-Fine, white to off-white powder when processed
-Slight sheen or glassy appearance

Other applications in different industries:

1. Glass Manufacturing:
Essential in the production of glass, where it improves workability and contributes to the chemical stability of the glass product.

2. Abrasives:
Utilized in certain abrasive products due to its hardness and durability.

3. Filler Material:
Used as a filler in paint, plastics, and rubber products, where it enhances the strength and smoothness of the material.

NOTE: All Raw Materials are very fine-grained (200-325 Mesh).
